What you will work on

1. Turning field documents into hydraulic models

The product builds process flow diagrams for a hydraulic modelling tool. Most of the data pipeline is already in place. What is missing is the layer that reads real inputs, engineering diagrams, photographs and GIS data, and turns them into structured diagram data.

You will own the site sync integration and the processing around it. The first piece of work is the interface: making extracted output reviewable and correctable by an engineer. A diagram nobody can check is a diagram nobody will use.

1. Business intelligence and existing web applications

Day to day work for an energy client. Reporting and analysis, plus maintenance and new features on web applications already in production. This moves in short cycles, not long projects, and the requests arrive as they arrive.

1. A product going to market

Client integrations, front end development, and AI features on a product actively being sold. The work grows as the product lands accounts, so the scope changes month to month. You need to be comfortable with that rather than tolerant of it.

What we need

• 5+ years shipping production web applications, front end and back end
• Strong TypeScript, React on the front, Node or Python on the back
• You have shipped something with an LLM in it that real users depend on. Not a demo. You know what retrieval, evaluation and handling a bad answer actually cost.
• You use AI tooling in your own work daily and have opinions about where it helps and where it wastes your time
• Comfortable with data: SQL, ETL, reshaping messy real world inputs
• You can take a vague request from a non technical stakeholder and come back with a scoped answer instead of a question

Useful, not required

• Oil and gas, energy or utilities experience
• GIS data
• Document and image understanding: OCR, layout parsing, diagram or schematic extraction
• BI tooling and dashboard work
